Casting Call for Transcribers!

Any good performance needs a great cast working together to put on the show. Starting today, the Philadelphia Playbills project is putting out the call for people to join our crew by helping to transcribe playbills on the project. Anyone can be a part of the effort to take a playbill like this…

merrywives…and transcribe this text so that it can become useful data for learning about the history of America’s theater.  Do you want the fact that Mrs. H. Wallack performed a Pas Seul following a production of Shakespeare’s Merry Wives of Windsor, the play A Tale of Mystery, and “A Rural Dance” on Dec. 1st 1819 to be buried in the archives forever?  Of course not!  Start joining the ensemble cast of playbill transcribers today by visiting our Zooniverse Project page and help us put on a show!
